Random Thought Of The Day #583

Day 583

I had a random moment yesterday where I thought "I haven't been to the Magical Disappearing Lake in a really long time. I kinda wanna go back".

Now... none of you knew me when a good friend (who one or 2 of you actually have met) and I first discovered the Magical Disappearing Lake. And while there were plenty of times where I happened across some Pterodactyls while on the way to visit it, there were many times when there were none to be found.

Oh wait... you probably don't know the Pterodactyl story either.

But it made me realize all the places that I used to go to all the fucking time and haven't been to in forever.

And I kinda wanna go visit them again.

But the thing is... these places actually have memories attached to them. And I'm not sure if they'll be as cool now. Is it just the nostalgia that makes these places cool? Were they just so weird that they actually were cool? I don't know. I'd like to think they were actually kinda cool and it wasn't just shit that I liked due to other... influences.

Or without a lot of things smoked ahead of time.

But if I were to inventory all the awesome places and things that I haven't been to or seen in forever, they'd go something like this:

Ma's Laundry

The Deli/Pool Hall/General Store/Arcade/Video Rental Center/Illegal Gambling Facility

The Magical Disappearing Lake

The Magical Gateway to Indiana (there was apparently a lot of magic to be found. Or magic mushrooms.)

The 5th way to a 4 way intersection
Brahim-hedge
The Invisible Park
That cow that gave me directions the one time

And I'm sure there's a few others that I'm just not thinking of in my caffeine deprived state.

But I kinda want to start going back to these places and seeing if they still even exist or if I can even find them again.

And I totally need to also throw in the haunted cemetary that I took a pet ghost home from and she lived in my linen closet.
